Chase & I
Me as a mom
As a mother I prioritize love, fun, support, education and values in my parenting approach.
With the support of my parents, I have created a nurturing home and life for Chase that is filled with laughter and celebration in the good times, and hugs and support during the hard times. I will continue to show Chase and hopefully a new brother or sister how much they are loved each day. I have waited for this for my entire life, and my focus and energy will be on providing my children with all the best things that life has to offer. I look forward to teaching my children many things, while being open to all the things they will teach me. I say sorry when I am wrong, and also provide structure when they need it. If you trust me with this huge responsibility, I will cherish this gift for all my life as I have cherished Chase.
My approach to raising Chase is that we are open about adoption. He doesn’t understand everything yet, but we read books about different families and my goal is to ensure he always knows that his birth mom and I both love him deeply. She and I keep in touch via me sending videos and photos and we have done a few videocalls. We have a respectful and loving relationship. It’s also been important to me to ensure we are connected to other families like ours, so I have a few friends who have created families through adoption that we also spend time with. These relationships will be important so that when Chase and hopefully another child grow, they have other friends and support and don’t feel “different”.

about chase - a hopeful older Brother
My child, Chase is very excited about the prospect of having a sibling. He is a kind and caring child who loves playing with other kids, and I am confident that he will be a wonderful older sibling. Chase is very popular with his preschool friends, and he has a calm and sweet disposition. We have lots of friends in our lives who have welcomed little brothers and sisters and Chase always asks them to hold the babies and give them their bottles. He is gentle and is so excited to share his room and toys with a little brother or sister.
